.....Kids.......Oh..MY..Gosh.......

My husband is fond of saying , usually while laughing " I new there was a reason we had kids" This was what he said today, but last night things were a bit tense around here. You see after dinner Allison came in, hysterically announcing that 'Sybic' is not in her cage..............

Great..... Maybe this is Gods way of getting her to clean her room..... because after searching every where...........
We finally found 'Sybic'.......... In the wall..........
And Daddy is our HERO once again................ yahhhhhhh Daddy !!!!!!!............
Many slithering blessings your way, Sue

Baking

When I'm happy, I bake... When I'm sad, I bake.... When I want to let someone know I love them or am thinking of them, I bake for them... Baking fills a special need.. Its good.
Pies or more specifically, pie crusts have always been a challenge for me...Until now. I met a really great lady who was having a bit of trouble with her sock knitting. So we traded...
I taught her some of my techniques and she taught me some of hers. Its just so happens that she is an accomplished pie maker and now I can make a killer crust.
The filling ain't too bad either......
Next time you get the chance I would love to fill your tummy with a piece pie and a cup of tea.
Many yummy blessings for you, Sue

Autumn Leaves

I have always loved leaves, for many reasons some of which I'm probably not even aware of. But I am especially fond of Autumn leaves. Being a mid to southern Californian all my life, had left me with a longing to see the East Coast as the leaves were putting on their yearly fall displays. Seriously this has been a goal of mine since I was a little girl.
I was able to fulfill that dream last November when I got to go to Maryland to see my daughter. I took some amazing photos, all of which I can't seem to download right now (???) While there she took me to a yarn shop in Edgewater and I bought some yarn to celebrate my trip. I only bought one skein and a pattern for a scarf. It was THE perfect fall colors. The pattern didn't settle quite right and so I never did anything with it. Until Now... I believe God intervened or had this planned the whole time. I found on Raverly, this pattern called Woodland Shawl by The Thrifty Knitter and fell in love....... Then I remembered my beautiful autumn yarn. But remember... I only bought 1 skein. Well I went online and found the same yarn, same color from a lady that I have purchased from before at a place called Heritage Yarns.
Within 2 days of placing the order I had 2 more skeins in my hands and your not going to believe this... It is even the same dye lot. Soooo.... One skein from Maryland and 2 skeins from another state ( I'm sorry I cant remember exactly, just this minute) with the same dye lot. THIS JUST DOES NOT HAPPEN
Anyway I am very happy. This is turning out to be one of those projects that I can't wait to work on and would like to never end (sort of)

Do you remember the fiber I showed you from the sheep named "Freckles"? She belongs to Sheena. Well I finally got it plyed and I'm very happy with the results.
I ended up with 132 yards, 4.7 ounces. I'm trying to decide whether I should dye it or just leave it be. Either way its some mighty pretty stuff. I may have to get that little Columbia after all. What do y'all think.
Bug is all registered for high-school next year. Whew!!! Neen's leaving in a couple of weeks to work in Md. for the summer and We're knee deep in wedding plans. Where is the time going????? It's almost summer again. I'm ready for some Moroccan Mint Ice Tea, Join me?
and meanwhile I'll be just over here, knitting and spinning....... oh and laundrying..hahahaha

Blessings, Sue
