Happy Easter !!

Happy Easter!! We had a wonderful, peaceful day. We were very happy to find our first egg this morning. We've been anticipating this for a while now and at long last here it is. Ahhhhhh a real Easter egg!!!!! This is how much my little ladies have grown. They are beautiful, aren't they!!!!!! The black one is called a "Jersey Giant" She is supposed to lay enormous eggs. I have never had one before so she was a just for fun pet purchase. The Tan in front is a Buff Orpington and the red to the far right is a Rhode Island Red.
This just so happens to be our BBQ and not intended for any macaube puns, but just so happens to be the chicken thighs. (sorry) We also had a yummy Tri-tip and all the fixens'.
Now if we could just get them to start laying these little treats we'd be set.
God Bless you all. Sue

Happy, Happy Birthday Baybeeeeee!!!!!

Saturday our sky's looked like this from our yard, which is probably why Sheena got snow at her retreat. (see her blog its linked on the side) It was a beautiful day. We had showers off and on all day.
I ran out a snapped this shot. If you click on it, it will enlarge and you can see the raindrops.
So all the while it showered outside I kept it toasty on the inside baking bread.
It was a blessed and peaceful weekend.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUGGY !!!

At Last... It's a Boy.....

After 23 years of waiting we finally have a son!!!!! He is wonderful. He is everything we have prayed for and truly an amazing addition to our family!!!! We had a terrific weekend. There was beach going, and Mission Trails hiking, teasing ... and of course tons of BBQ food. There was bridesmaid dress shopping and happy tears and lots of hugs and yes I must admit still some coughing. May I say that one of Gods greatest gifts is family and it was THE BEST, to have them all under the same roof. I have to admit also that I stole this picture from Angel. He took this on their hike at Mission Trails. I love springtime. California poppies are a favorite too.
What the heck???????? I worked on this second sock during our weekend and got this far only to notice I had the wrong stitch count on the toe. Poop !!! Oh well I ripped it out and am already to the heal again. No tears!! Its a great pattern and I'll show you more when I'm done.
More again later.... Blessings Sue

Hit Hard

We've been hit hard recently with a really bad flu/cough/cold. It started with Allison and now that she is well... I'm on the antibiotics. Trying to find the silver lining has payed off in a Big Way this time........ We have finally found the perfect pizza crust for our family.
I have tried several over the years and none have compared to this one. I found it hereEasyPizzaCrusts.com Easy Pizza Crust
3 cups all purpose flour
1 pkg yeast or 1 Tbls.
2 tsps salt
1/3 cup sugar
8 oz milk, warmed to 110 degrees
4 oz water, warmed to 110 degrees
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare you pizza stone or pan with cooking spray then sprinkle with a bit of corn meal.
Combine all dry ingredients.
Add warmed wet ingredients and stir until well mixed.
Cover bowl with towel and set aside for 20 to 25 minutes or until you have your topping prepared.
Knead it a bit and spread it onto your pan.
Top with whatever you want, I go lightly on the sauce so the crust doesn't get to doughy.
Bake at 400 degrees to 20 to 25 minutes, depending on the thickness of your dough.
Toss together a salad and your done!!!!!!!! Enjoy

Easy recipes like these are always necessary at our house cause you see after I have spent however long it takes nursing everyone else back to semi health, Life is better if I have to yell less instructions from a. the bedroom b. the couch or c. the bathroom. Gross I know but you understand? don't you?
Health and Blessings, Sue
